With Windows 8, Microsoft tells envy that he wishes to “rethink Windows”. However, giant Microsoft does not want to even cut bridges with aficionados of its operating system.

This is why Steven Sinofsky in charge of Windows has to reassure following the 50 email messages received on this subject: Yes, the Media Center will be well integrated with Windows 8.

He also said that a lot of work remains to be done, either compatibility or functionality that can be added or removed. In all cases, the Media Center will be absent from the first prerelease of Windows 8. It will also be the case of Windows 7 gamers, DVD Creator and Dot. NET 3.5, absent from the first pre-release of Windows 8 expected at BUILD Conference to be held from 13 to 16 September next in Anaheim, California.

Steven Sinofsky communicates still on some figures highlighting the fact that the presence of the Media Center will be probably anecdotal for much of the users. Because under Windows 7, only 6% of users are appeal, primarily in Russia, the Mexico and the Brazil. And only 25% of these 6% use the Media Center for more than 10 minutes. In comparison, the Media Player and Internet are much more popular with respectively 66% and 88% of users.

Recently, we have seen Windows 8 will well have 2 interfaces between which the user can navigate: more oriented Metro minimalism and touch, and the more conventional Office (see this article). In addition, Windows Explorer will be an interface to tape the image of the last drafts of Office (see this article) and it will be possible to mount the ISO directly without going through a third-party software (see article).
