The new distribution Linux Ubuntu 11.10 for code Oneiric Ocelot is now available in beta while its final version is still scheduled for October 13.
The distribution Linux Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot integrates the kernel (kernel) Linux 3.0. 0-9. 15 based on version 3.0.3 stable. It offers a 32-bit compatibility improved on 64-bit systems but the big news is looking at the Unity interface.
Thus at the top of the application launcher, an icon provides access to the Dash while Scopes and Lenses replacement tickets. A new login LightDM screen also made its appearance.
Desktop environment Gnome 3.1.5 is part until version 3.2 stable, as Firefox Beta 7.0, LibreOffice 3.4.2 and already Dup for the backup.
Also note that under Kubuntu, the KDE 4.7 with Amarok 2.4.3 music software there.
