After a long wait, Sony is finally formalizing its shelves under Android. If the Tablet is pretty classic, Tablet P is however much more innovative.
Therefore begin with the Tablet, a tablet with a dalle 9.4 inches (1280 ? 800 pixels). The configuration is quite classic with the presence of an Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, frontal webcam of 0.3 MP and a photo sensor / 5MP placed to the rear video. All under Android Honeycomb 3.1 (updated to Honeycomb 3.2 will be offered free of charge in the coming weeks) accompanied by various houses, compelling on a Tablet applications (Reader eBook, multimedia application,…).
Small originality, the Tablet has an infrared transmitter that allows to use it as a universal remote. It will also fly the DLNA devices since the tablet.
Another originality, Sony has opted for a “design asymmetrical” slightly different from that usually proposed on the shelves. According to the mark, the purpose is to deport the centre of gravity and thus offer a better taken in hand while reducing fatigue for the user. A check in practice in a future takeover.
The Tablet is available in preorder shop Sony Online, from $490. The WiFi Only models are expected early October. If you opt for a 3 G model, it will have to wait until next November.
Enchainons with the Tablet P more original model with two screens of 5.5 inches, that can be used independently or together (some see probably the inspiration for the Toshiba Libretto W100, indeed sale to $399 currently). Sony intends to reproduce our reading habits acquired with books / magazines while providing an easier handling with its rounded forms.
Tablet P is equipped with a 3 G chip standard to stay connected permanently to the mobile networks. Its compact dimensions and its contained weight (370 g) allow him to slip easily into a bag. The two screens folding on the other, they are thus less vulnerable during transport. The rest of the configuration is identical to that of the Tablet.
Sony tablets course can access the “Sony Entertainment network”, iTunes like of the brand, which offers numerous content (music, videos, games including some from the catalogue of the PlayStation,…).
